The ONLY Green Smoothie Recipe You’ll Ever Need Gets Fall a Glow Up

I have been silently suffering breakfast boredom since the epic time change of a few weeks back. Something about that 5:00pm sunset and the quickly dropping temperatures of the now super short afternoon have totally killed my appetite.

Morning after morning I stare into the abyss of the hulking box that keeps cold things cold. Sipping my coffee and tapping my fingers against the stainless steel, I keep manically trying to manifest a fridge fairy to come and conjure up something truly satisfying. But, no such winged kitchen creature has come to my rescue.

Maybe it was because Mercury has finally gone direct or because I had absolutely nothing to do this morning. But, I found myself barefoot, braless and still pajamaed, yet determined to break out of my breakfast rut.

As I piled half of the contents of my fridge onto the kitchen island hoping for inspiration to strike, I saw a delicious seasonal pomegranate staring right at me on the counter. Nestled in the epicenter of my fruit bowl between a lonely half rotten banana and my favorite fuji apples, the answer to my pre-workout prayers was clear. My go-to-green smoothie was about to get a Fall flavor glow up.

Making a few seasonal substitutions gives my new go to recipe a flavor profile that’s more ayurvedically aligned and easier on the gut. Using a no sugar added apple cider as the base, healthful vitamin rich greens, and the contents of my fruit bowl, plus some familiar fall spices gives this green smoothie a warm hug.

Follow the infographic above for my easy 5-step go-to-green smoothie designed to break the fast without boredom.
